About IDC Charity Clinic:
The Indian Doctors Charity Clinic was established in March 1999 and has successfully completed 15 years of service to Houstonians of all ethnic groups
The clinic sees patients once a week on Saturdays, from 9 A.M to 12 noon.
Patients of ALL ethnic groups are seen – Asians, Hispanics, Caucasians and African-Americans are given this service free of charge if they have no insurance and are indigent.
IDC Charity Clinic Stats:
- 2008 – 700 patients seen at the clinic on Saturdays + approx. 800 seen at various events/health fairs
- 2009 – 900 patients seen at the clinic on Saturdays + approx. 1000 seen at various events/health fairs
- 2010 – 1000 patients seen at the clinic on Saturdays
- 2011 – 1100 patients seen at the clinic on Saturdays
- 2012 – 1200 patients seen at the clinic on Saturdays
- 2013 – annualized rate of 1400 patients
The clinic is run by volunteer doctors and nurses from the Indian community in Houston.
The clinic needs volunteer physicians to serve for one or two Saturdays a year from 9 AM to 12 noon. Any physician who has valid Texas license can serve.
